Scar tissue, cutaneous lesions, and benign growths can be effectively treated with the Aerolase

Era. This treatment gently removes the scar or lesion while preserving the surrounding skin. The

affected area is ablated by removing a layer with each pulse until the lesion is completely gone,

typically within one to two sessions, resulting in a uniform skin tone and texture. Thanks to the

Era’s unique capability to treat patients with only a beam of laser light touching the skin, all body

areas can be treated comfortably.

What Is The Aerolase LightPod Era?

The Era is an erbium 2940nm wavelength laser with a 300 microsecond pulse duration which allows the skin to cool between pulses. In allowing the skin to cool and not overheat, there is less collateral damage to the skin than with other lasers. There is less risk of demarcation where the treatment starts and stops, and less risk of pigment issues post treatment. This treatment can be customized to a patient’s needs and what they are comfortable with, as far as down time. The treatment is most popular on the face but can be done on other areas and scars, depending on the treatment. Choose Era to Refresh, Reveal and Renew.

Aerolase LightPod Era Treatment Process?

Prior to deciding on Era, you will have a thorough consultation with your skin care expert. Your skin will be assessed, and a treatment protocol will be determined for you. The day of your Era treatment, you will have a numbing cream applied 20 minutes prior. The skin will then be cleansed and prepped for treatment. It is recommended that you take antihistamines prior, to help calm the skin’s response, as well as antivirals to prevent cold sores for those who are prone. The treatment can take around an hour, depending on the size of the treatment area. You may feel some discomfort, but the numbing cream helps to make the treatment more tolerable. After the treatment, your skin will feel warm and inflamed. You can use a soothing thermal spray, provided by our office, to cool the skin. All post care instructions should be followed precisely with ablative procedures. This will be discussed in detail at the time of your visit. It will take 5-7 days to heal, depending on how aggressive your treatment is. There may be mild swelling the first day or two, but antihistamines should help with this. Peeling usually resolves by day 5-7. Use the soothing post care products provided by our office, and we will be readily available to answer questions regarding healing and your treatment.

Potential Risks And Side Effects

The risk of side effects is fairly low, as long as proper pre and post care procedures are followed. This will be discussed prior to the appointment and at the time of treatment. Here at Skin Boss, we always educate our patients on proper procedures to ensure the best healing process and outcome for our patients.

LightPod Era Laser Benefits

Era can help with a refresh on superficial pigment and fine lines, as well as go deeper to get more pigment, texture, and deeper wrinkles. This treatment is customizable and is considered a one-and-done treatment, as it can help many conditions and shows almost immediate improvements. Era is safe on many skin types, but those with darker pigment may not be a candidate to receive the treatment. Results of Era can be long-lasting, but as usual, the skin is always aging. Maintaining the skin with anti-aging products and treatments is essential to protecting your investment.

Who Should Try The Aerolase LightPod Era?

Most patients will benefit from Era and will see marked improvement from just one treatment. There are patients that may not be ideal candidates for ablative procedures depending on the type of pigment issues they have or their skin type. This will all be determined at your consultation. We have treatments that range from mild to aggressive and can accommodate all skin types, so we will, undoubtedly, create a protocol that’s best for you.

The Laser: Era Elite

The Era Elite is a powerful yet gentle aesthetic laser to reverse the signs of aging and scarring. Its 300 Microsecond 2940nm technology administers short-duration pulses allowing patients highly effective treatments with minimal discomfort and recovery time. The high efficiency of the Era Elite allows patients to complete a facial rejuvenation procedure in just one sitting as compared to multiple treatments with other technologies. Only a beam of laser light touches the skin, which allows for the most hygienic and comfortable treatment available. The Era Elite is FDA cleared.

Is there downtime?

Downtime is dependent on how deep the ablation is done during the treatment. For example, individuals who are seeking deep wrinkle elimination and sun damage reduction, a more ablative treatment is required which results in longer downtime required.

What Is the Price of a Treatment Session?

The cost of Aerolase Neo is impacted by the exact Aerolase treatment chosen, along with the practice you choose for your treatment session. At Skin R&R Treatment, we are happy to discuss the cost of your treatment in advance during your consultation.

What about aftercare?

Once your Aerolase treatment is completed, you will be able to return to your daily schedule without any need for downtime or recovery time. A degree of redness may be present, but this will soon fade. For a time, it will be necessary to avoid sun overexposure and to wear proper sunscreen as the skin tissues recover from the laser treatment. Exact aftercare varies depending on the chosen treatment.

What about treating skins of color?

The Aerolase Era utilizes 300-microsecond precise pulse technology for controlled skin ablation with minimal thermal damage to surrounding tissues. This precision is especially advantageous for skin of color, reducing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) and other thermal damage-related side effects. The Era also offers adjustable settings, including energy and pulse duration. These allow practitioners to tailor treatments to the specific needs and responses of darker skin tones, enhancing safety and effectiveness.
